Thanasis Dovris was born and raised in Larissa. He has been working in acting and theatre since 1998. He has worked with organizations such as the Cyprus Theatre Organization (Θ.Ο.Κ), the National Theatre of Greece, the National Theatre of Northern Greece (Κ.Θ.Β.Ε), the Athens Festival, institutions such as Stegi, Stavros Niarchos Foundation, and theatres such as the THESSALONIKI THEATRE, Theatre of Arts, THEATRE Stoa, Theatre Karezi, Simple Theatre, D.I.P.E.T.H. Kavala, D.I.P.E.T.H. Patras, and Poreia Theatre, among others. He has collaborated with numerous directors including L. Vogiatzis, Th. Papageorgiou, A. Mprouskou, Th. Gkonis, G. Houvardas, A. Azas, V. Mavrogeorgiou, M. Konstantatos, E. Boza, Th. Abatzis, S. Tzoumerkas, P. Moustakis, R. Pateraki, D. Lalos, V. Georgiadou, Th. Glynatsis, M. Maganari, K. Kalivretakis, D. Tarlou, E. Mavridou, and many others, in works and roles from both domestic and international repertoires.

In 2016, he directed the play GIAK, based on the novel by Dimosthenis Papamarkos, produced by himself at the Skrow Theatre. In 2019, he directed Happy Days by Samuel Beckett, and in 2020, he directed Temptation by Carles Batllie, both at the Skrow Theatre. In 2018, for the Youth Festival at the Stegi of the Onassis Foundation, he directed the performance Antigone-Cold Spaceship with second-year middle school children—first and second-generation immigrants. In 2020, for the digital platform of the Municipality of Heraklion, Crete, he directed the performance 2021 A.D.: The Logs, a composition based on the short story by A. Papadiamantis. In 2021, during the pandemic, he directed Macbeth by W. Shakespeare, at the Basement of the Theatre of Arts, in a new translation by Th. Glynatsis.

He is a member of the jukebooks team, where he narrates books. He has acted in films such as The Miracle of the Sargasso Sea, Mare Nostrum, Alpha Mail, and more. He has participated in TV series such as Black Midnight, The Ten, The Camping-alpha Cyprus, Dark Sea, Who is Papadopoulos, and others. Currently, he is part of the main cast of the series The Numbers, which is airing on ERT. In the last year, he has been working on the in-progress theatrical composition Witches, which explores the female nature within the world.
