Resume
Graduate of the Department of Theater Studies of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and holder of a Master’s Degree on “The Greek Theater from Antiquity to Today”.
She has taught “Theatre Pedagogy” at the Department of Theatrical Studies of Patras and Theater Education in Primary and Secondary Education, at the Artistic Gymnasium/Lyceum of Gerakas, at the SCS Korydallos Prison Complex, at a number of public Institutes of Vocational Training and in international pedagogy programs through theater (with the last program of the High Commission and the Panhellenic Network for Theater in Education with the title “And if it were you”).
She teaches Theater History and Dramaturgy in drama schools in Athens, while she has directed experiential theater workshops in a number of university theater festivals in Belgium, Lithuania, Belarus, Poland, Germany, Egypt, Mexico, England, Ireland, etc.
She is co-author of the books “Theatre – Theatrical Education” (IDEKE, 2007) and “Experiential Learning Paths”, (Kedros publications, 2011). She has written the Study Guides of the Art Schools for the Theater Directing and Aesthetics/Film Directing courses of the IEP (2015).
In the period 1997-2004 she was in charge of the Library and Archives of the National Theatre.
She has directed the youth plays: After the Foam Jack Thorne Respect /Burying Your Brother on the Pavement, Aristophanes Ornithes, Shakespeare A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Goethe Faust, Sophocles Antigone, Aristophanes Nepheles, Euripides Helen, and traveling shows such as Public Sign/ Epitaph of Pericles, Traces – the quest of Pythagoras, Kath’odon /DIPETHE Corfu. She has collaborated as a dramaturg in more than 30 theater and dance performances. She has organized numerous festivals of Young Creators in collaboration with various organizations and theaters.
From April 2016 to September 2019, she was an advisor to the educational programs of the Athens and Epidaurus Festival and the Artistic Director of the program “Educating the Public in Ancient Drama” as well as the International Summer School of Ancient Drama “Epidavros High School”.
Course description
The history of human civilization and its individual issues have always inspired the works of great playwrights. Combining theory with practice, students on the course will attend a series of lectures and perform classroom presentations experientially exploring the theatrical lexicon (from the earliest theatrical texts to modern theories of directing and acting). Through this learner-centered and hands-on teaching approach and the continuous availability of supporting audio-visual material, participants are able to discuss and understand the essence of the course objectives, which is the starting point for creating a well-rounded artist. During the academic year students will be tested in written, oral and group assignments as well as written exams at the end of each semester.
