The seminar “Transformation and Ridiculousness – The Poetry beneath Absurdity” by the award-winning Greek director and performer Evripides Laskaridis, which took place recently at the Higher Private School of Dramatic Art “Theater I0Θ”, was successfully completed.
In the workshop, Laskaridis proposed interpretive tools derived from his extensive research into the concepts of transformation and the ludicrous, as well as his professional background in physical theater and ancient Greek drama. With the comic and the grotesque as his starting point, but also everything that is considered “otherworldly”, Laskaridis attempted a path of investigation from the external to the internal, always taking into account the unique artistic status of each participant.
The workshop was attended by more than 20 professional performers (dancers, actors, singers, performers) from the field of performing arts, as well as students and graduates of professional dance and theater schools.
The participants expressed enthusiasm for the experience, stressing that the workshop offered them new interpretive tools and helped them deepen their understanding of fundamental concepts of physical theater and performance.
